"Partners in Crime"- Agatha Christie.

Well GG, my first experience of Agatha Christie was with the Belgian, Poirot. It was the French translation of:"Murder on the express orient". I fell for him and I thought he was the ONE, but then granma Marples came along in "The body in the Library", and for a long time, I couldn't make my mind as to who to go out with. About 4 months ago, I came across a couple. They were just Friends then: Tommy and Tuppence. They made their apparition for the first time in "The secret adversary", and Tuppence-the girl of the couple- hit me by the sharpeness of her brains, and what was meant to happen, happened: I fell in love with them. Tommy, though a little slow of the understanding was also great. I couldn't resist the temptation, and I went for the second novel that portrayed them : "Partners in Crime". So I believe, her regulars were: Hercule Poirot, Joan Marple and Tommy and Tuppence Beresford. In addition of those, she used other fictional characters like the one in "Crooked house", but I forgot his name.  If I am to choose one, I think I'll go for the couple, Tommy and 2pence.I heard of the non-fiction story you did mention but I've never came across it.

I'm not one of the talented ones, nor am I the nice one, the friendly one, or the fun one. I'm the mean one. Deal with it.

I've just started "N or M?", by Agatha Christie.

Ah ma chere GG, I've discovered a Library in a nearby neighborhood specialized in novels. You name it, and they fetch it for you. That is where I found the collection of Christies. You know, most of the Christies I've read so far were French translations(Le crime de l'Orient Express, l'Homme au complet marron, les trois petits cochons, Le meutre de Roger Ayckroyd, la maison discornue....etc) but I feel like -and no offence to the French language- the English versions are more gripping. I mean, "La maison discornue" and "Crooked house" seemed to be two different novels....but you could feel Agatha's touchWink [;)]. I suggest you get some, maybe we could share our experiences. I simply hope we won't turn this thread into "What novel of Agatha Christie are you currently reading? "

Hey Agatha Christie isn't the only decent author under the sun!

Currently I SHOULD be reading Shelley, Mary Shelley and Byron and lots of other stuff, but I'm reading Jane Austen's "Emma"(also part of syllabus, yay!Big Smile [:D]) and a fantasy fic by an Indian author named Samit Basu("The Manticore's Secret").

Now I am reading--Political History, from early ages to 1918.

P.S. Hey Joy! Haven't seen you around for quite some time. I hope all is well and you are enjoying the Uni. Are you already the most popular girl at campus? Wink [;)]

Well, I dunno whether it counts, but I "watched" Wuthering Heights, with Juliette Binoche.
