I found a white pill in my sons room that says xanax 0.25 on the front, and it scored on the back. I have never taken any drugs before, should I be worried?  He is 17 and says he buys it from a friend to help with his anxiety.  I dont have health insurance to cover him to see a doctor, but I sure dont want him buying drugs off the street.  Is there some way to get anti-anxiety medications without health care?

A 17 year old boy takes a frug on suggestion from his fellow. To be serious, not a healthy situation. Did you try asking a doctor about the pill or did oyu search it?

Hello Grant,

I must be honest that I was in a doubt, to answer or not, cos I don't like to express myself in my field, but If I stay silent, my concuss will not allow to sleep calm, as I always do.

I can understand your concerns as a parent, and it is extremely sincere to share this problem in public, but I  believe that what the parents do for their children always have good intention.

Well, Xanax is a drag same as Valium or Diazepam, they are in the same group of drugs, and yes, the doctors prescription is the must for this addictive drags, which is mean that only the doctors can allow to take them or not. We use them to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety caused by depression. If one of that conditions are yours child problem, they have their support for use. But I would like to say and share my experiences and of course, examples in the medicine, about the use of this drags among the young people. The youth usually take this medications in a combination with alcohol, so the feeling after is to be high, high as possible without the real drags, which is very dangerous match and strictly forbidden in all the places that you can find and read about them.

I don't like to believe that it is true in your case, but we have to be always on a stand by and aware of this possibility, particularly when we speak about the young people.

If I may allow to myself to give you my opinion, as I already took that advantage, be aware and always with open eyes about your child, find a way to see a doctor, but not suspicious in every step that he will make.

Never judge your child, be supportive always, cos people run away always when they are judged, and never came back, never...So be friend with your child, try to find the reason for his using of that drag and help him, that is why people become a parents, to love and care for their heir,

All the best to you and your family,
