The most awaited fight between the legendary Oscar Dela Hoya and our very own Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao was officially announced by both camps via teleconference hours ago. This mega-fight has been in negotiations for months and it’s finally going to happen on Dec. 6, 2008. Sportswriters around the world were abuzz about this seemingly mismatch competition between the two boxing superstars. The Golden Boy Oscar Dela Hoya stands 5’11 and weights 160 pounds while the current no.1 pound for pound boxer in the world Manny Pacquiao is 5’6 in height and has 135 pounds in scale. Some boxing experts predict Oscar’s size advantage would be too much for the “Pacman”, but Pacquiao’s famous American trainer Freddie Roach said this isn’t much a factor come fight night because Manny’s speed will overwhelm Oscar. We don’t know which to believe but it is sure that this event will be a huge success business wise. Many people will go to MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada to watch this mega-fight. Others will just buy pay-per-view or see it free on television via delayed telecast. As for me, a Pinoy, it’s sure that I would bet my hard earned money to my man the “Pacman” lol, can’t wait to see this fight happen.
