How long do YOU think one should have a steady relationship before marrying?

Is the woman being pregnant an "excuse" to get married?

I don't think that there should be a set time when one should start thinking about marrage, as it depends on alot factors such as time spent together, communication, age, etc. However I do think that one should at least wait about three years or so to get to know the person well. I've been with my girlfriend for five years now and we both have very good communication, but we are still finding out new stuff about eachother.

I don't agree with marrying someone just because they are pregnant, although if i was planning on marrying my girlfriend next year and she suddenly fell pregnant, then I would move the wedding forward.

The heart knows when the heart knows. You can't put a time window on things like that.

sure, but ya'll cant tell me that it's okay to marry someone after just meeting them and maybe dating them for a while... you only REALLY know the person after YEARS!

When...? Never?

Regarding what Lady Punky says, well I've met people who had dated for years and their marriage is awful. And then people who had just dated for a few months and they seem to be ok.

I'll marry only when I'm settled with a proper career, even if I have found the guy of my dreams years before.I think it would be difficult to juggle a marriage, a baby and looking out for a job!

I think financial stability and independance is important for both of us, so even if he's filthy rich, I would still like to get my own income.

Right now at the age of 23,I think I'm far off from being a wife or mother. Well, that's just my two centsSmile [:)]
